Have you learnt that the day prior to this used to be National Quiche Day and International Chardonnay Day?  (Or in all probability the other means round.)


No, I didn’t each until when we had had quiche with salad and a correctly chilled glass of the aforementioned for lunch!



I was inspired to make this specific quiche after learning my excellent good friend Ken’s blog publish which you can see proper right here.  He and Walt make one in all those annually when the French white asparagus first turns out in the marketplace.  It at all times appears to be so delicious and I have intended to make one for a long time, then again in no way obtained spherical to it.  Or in no way remembered when our English green asparagus is inside the retailers.





The asparagus spears are boiled until merely smooth, cooled then wrapped in slices of ham.  I made mine slightly otherwise from Ken’s on account of I only had a small pack of asparagus in the house.  So I filled inside the gaps with only some further bits of ham and a couple of cooked sprigs of broccoli.  I moreover sprinkled some cheddar on high, just because it looked like a good idea.

1 pack ready made ready rolled shortcrust pastry

5 slices of cooked ham, plus further for filling inside the gaps

3 eggs, beaten
