Did you know that sugar is one of the most addictive substances in our food supply? Yep. And Americans consume about 130 pounds of sugar every year. Yikes! We are definitely addicted, and it’s no surprise why. There are over 600,000 processed food items in grocery stores today. 80% of them have added sugar! You really have to be a diligent label reader to ensure the food manufacturers aren’t sneaking sugar into your food!
There is a mountain of research showing that sugar makes us fat.
The most important thing is to learn how to stabilize your blood sugar. Avoid flour products (yes, this means bread) & refined sweets. Eat plenty of protein and veggies. Eat delicious real food that doesn’t come out of a package or drive-thru. This includes lean protein, dark leafy green veggies, healthy fats (avocados, almonds, coconut oil) and berries. Decrease the foods that make you sick (sugar, caffeine, alcohol, gluten, dairy, grains, processed foods) and incorporate exercise & relaxation techniques that enable the body to heal.
